    L'orchestre imaginaire

A graceful musician with a surprisingly funny odd look start laying a carpet in your street. Suddenly out of little music machines and tricks, he is turning into a magic orchestra.
Eric Tarantola joggles with a wide variety of instruments, switching from his “Guitanjo” combining a Guitar and a Banjo to trombone or drums using a sequence recording machine blending all types of sound effects.
His music genre is a combination of varied influences from jazz, funk, classic, world music, circus music and more…
He also shaped his style along his travels and encounters in Spain, France, South America or Africa.
More than a street artist concert, Eric Tarantola is inviting you to a journey through his music, boldness and talent to bring his audience off their feet.

    Eric Tarantola
    Multi instrumentalist

Born in 1983, in Orange, South of France, he studied guitar and trombone in the modern music training center called "Pro Music" in Thor, and afterwards in the national conservatoire of Marseille and Avignon. Besides his musical studies he put one foot in the world of theater working as a stage manager of "Badaboum Théâtre" in Marseille (theater for children).
He has played and recorded together with numerous bands of modern music: from Funk, cumbia, hip-hop, reggae, salsa, jazz-fusion, ska-rock, brass band to traditional music of Burkina Faso.
In 2009, he created his solo project « L’Orchestre imaginaire » combining several instruments and mixing them with a pedal tape recorder (loop-station). This way he started playing on the streets and begun an international artistic tour meeting artists of different backgrounds and collaborating in different fields like circus (Torpeza Ritmika, Markus Schrag), dance (Cie. À pas de loop, Elena Peinado), cinema (Collectif AIAA), street theater (Tartine compagnie), painting (Guillermo Escalante, Yasmine Chettouh), poetry (Yves Gaudin),…
In 2013, he met circus artist Torpeza Ritmika (clown and cyr-wheel) and created together the « Zagreb Company » presenting the show « La Rosa de los Vientos » with which they have been touring for 4 years now. In 2016 the Zagreb Company started to collaborate with the Swiss comedian Markus Schrag and created together the trio " Mägic Hene and Friends " with whom they have participated in several festivals and cabarets in Switzerland.
With his three shows « L’Orchestre Imaginaire », « La Rosa de los Vientos » and « Mägic Hene and friends » Eric has played in numerous street festivals in more than 20 countries over the world.
Eric is still exploring new instruments and new sounds, he also collaborates with the composer Yves Chomez, which allows him to produce always new and more original compositions.
